Lebanon A Is The WInner Of Group A
The Transmed World Cup 2023, an event that takes place every four years and is open to all employees of Transmed worldwide, kicked off on Saturday, May 6, 2023, with the group stage matches.

The event took place at the football field of Istanbul Technical University, where teams and employees from Lebanon A, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, UAE CG, and Germany competed in Group A. The Lebanon A team finished at the top of Group A, which is characterized by excitement and high levels of competition, with 10 points. The Morocco and Saudi Arabia teams collected 7 points each, but Morocco secured the second spot in the group with a better goal difference. The Saudi Arabia team settled for the third position. The UAE CG team earned 4 points, securing the fourth place, while Germany ended up in the fifth position with 0 points.
The first match of Group A started with a silent game between UAE CG and Morocco. Both teams were cautious and assessed each other's strengths in the first match of the day, where the goalkeepers' performances attracted attention. Y. Ajjaj, who served as both the goalkeeper and captain of the Morocco team, led his team on the field and made significant saves. The UAE CG team, on the other hand, managed to keep their goal safe by displaying a well-coordinated defense and the remarkable performance of their goalkeeper, Abdu Juhair (0-0).
The second match took place between the Lebanon A and Germany teams. Lebanon A, one of the strong teams in the tournament, made a lightning-fast start to the game. Mohamad Maatouk scored two goals within the first 2 minutes, giving his team a 2-0 lead. Ali Nasereddine, the midfield maestro of the Lebanon A team, delivered one of the most remarkable performances of the tournament by scoring 4 goals in the 5th, 6th, 10th, and 12th minutes. In the final moments of the first half, Mohamad Maatouk once again took the stage and stylishly found the net, making it 7-0. Germany, known as one of the most enjoyable and sportsmanlike teams in the tournament, scored their only goal of the match through midfielder Bernd Richter (7-1). Number 3, Elie Hanna, who displayed an effective performance in defense, contributed with a goal, making it 8-1. Substitute player Ali Najdi made a single-goal contribution from the sidelines (9-1). Mohamad Maatouk, who showcased a candidate performance to be the man of the match from the start, also scored the final goal, setting the score at 10-1.
In the third match of Group A, Morocco and Saudi Arabia faced each other. In the highly competitive and intense match, Morocco once again managed to keep their goal safe. Displaying an impressive defensive performance, Morocco team secured 3 points with a critical goal by A. Mandour towards the end of the match (1-0). Led by captain Faris, the Saudi Arabia team attracted attention with their team play but ended the match without any points.
The tournament continued in Group A with the match between UAE CG and Lebanon A. Lebanon A team opted for a more secure game compared to their first match, while UAE CG started the game with a more attacking approach. Lebanon A team, excelling in their passing game, took the lead in the third minute with a goal from their playmaker Ali Nasereddine (0-1). UAE CG increased their attacks after conceding the goal, while Lebanon A team balanced the game with their solid defense and safe passing choices. Lebanon A team made a quick start to the second half and extended their lead to 0-2 with a beautiful goal from their dynamo Elia Hanna in the 21st minute. Despite several opportunities, UAE CG failed to capitalize, and the number 7 substitute Mohamad Moussawi took advantage of the defensive gaps left by UAE CG to score a goal, making it 0-3.
In the fifth match, Saudi Arabia earned the rewards of their dedicated performance in the first match and secured a crucial three points. Saudi Arabia team, considering more attacks and goals compared to the first match, gained a significant advantage in the first half with two goals from their talented forwards Rami and Naif (4-0). Towards the end of the first half, Germany intensified their attacks under the leadership of Eric Tefke but failed to convert their chances. Germany, prioritizing goals over defense, conceded two consecutive goals on counter-attacks (6-0). The goals came from Ateeq and Rami. Saudi Arabia continued where they left off in the second half, and their midfielders Abbas and Naif determined the final score of the match with their goals (8-0).
In the sixth match of the day, the competitive teams of the group, Lebanon A and Morocco, competed in a crucial match, but as expected, not many goals were scored. Lebanon A team aimed to disrupt their opponent's strong defense with an early goal, which they achieved in the second minute through defensive midfielder Hussein Hammoud (0-1). From that moment on, there was a tactical chess battle on the field. The contributions of the coaches on the sidelines, along with the team captains, and the directives they gave were noteworthy. In the second half, Lebanon A team switched to their familiar passing game to make use of their leadership chances and implemented a secure game plan. Morocco team, on the other hand, failed to convert important chances through A. Lamzili and A. Mandour in their quest for an equalizer.
The seventh match in Group A was played between UAE CG and Saudi Arabia. In a game where midfield battles took center stage, Saudi Arabia's successful forward Naif broke the deadlock in the ninth minute (0-1). It was observed that both teams had periods of dominance throughout the match, characterized by duels and physical strength. There were attacks from both sides throughout the game. In the final stages of the match, UAE CG pushed their defense forward, but Amer Khatip couldn't capitalize on the opportunities. In the 27th minute, Naif scored a beautiful goal, securing the second goal and giving his team some comfort (0-2). Sayed Frangieh, one of UAE CG's star players, adorned his influential performance with a goal, but the final score settled at 1-2.
In the eighth match, Morocco and Germany faced each other. Morocco started the game with an attacking lineup, considering their group leadership aspirations. From the first whistle, Morocco started creating chances with their forwards. A. Mandour, A. Lamzili, and Z. Ben Moussa found the net. A. Mandour scored 3 goals, A. Lamzili scored 2 goals, and Z. Ben Moussa scored 3 goals (8-0). S. Badou, who had shown defensive prowess in the first three matches, contributed to the team by scoring two excellent goals in this game (10-0). Y. Bousenna, playing in a defensive midfield position, also found the net in his advanced attacks (11-0). Towards the end of the match, with the consideration of the goal difference, Morocco continued to score goals, and the match ended with a score of 13-0.
In the ninth match of Group A, there was a veritable football feast. Goals being scored back and forth, fast-paced gameplay, plenty of chances... This crucial match, which determined the balance of the group, started with high tempo as Lebanon A team took a 1-0 lead with a goal from Mohamad Maatouk in the second minute. Saudi Arabia quickly responded by increasing their attacking tactics and equalized with a goal from midfielder Abbas, making it 1-1. In a match where numerous long-range shots were taken, the saves by Saudi Arabia's goalkeeper Ahmed and Lebanon A's goalkeeper Mohamad Nahleh were remarkable. Towards the end of the first half, number 8 Ali Nasereddine, known for his technical skills, put his team ahead 2-1. Saudi Arabia, starting the second half stronger, found their goal through a penalty scored by Naif in the 26th minute. In this highly engaging match, the teams settled for a draw with 1 point each.
In the final match of Group A, two strong teams, UAE CG and the sportsmanship-oriented Germany, faced each other. UAE CG started the game with speed, considering the balance of goal difference in the group, and scored three goals in the first three minutes, as if starting the match with a 3-0 lead. The goals came from captain Amer Khatib, Sayed Frangieh, and AbdulHakim Majzoub. After the goals, Germany found clear opportunities in the opponent's half and scored a goal through their talented and technical player Eric Tefke (3-1). Towards the end of the first half, the team captain scored another goal, followed immediately by a goal from Mohamad Mekdache, known for his contributions in defense (5-1). In the second half, Ali Bahsoun scored two goals, Amer Khatip scored one goal, and substitute Ali Bahsoun also found the net, determining the final score of the match as 9-1.
